I have played clay for almost 20 years. I started making small pinch-pot bowls and pit firing them, because I couldn't afford any else. I moved to Denver and started taking classes at the Arvada Center. I got hooked on Raku firing. Every piece is unique. The variety in color and texture... it's like opening up birthday presents every time I get the first glance at a finished piece.
